This is the personal and academic website of Marcos Costa. Here is, in plain language, what happens to your data when you browse it.
Who is responsible
The person responsible for this site and for the data processed on it is Marcos Costa (Marcos Rogério Martins Costa), professor and researcher. For any request about your data, write to the personal email listed on the Contact page.
What the site collects
In this version, the site has no database and does not store anything you type. The contact form only puts a message together and opens your own email app. Only when you send that email does the message reach me, with the information you chose to write.
The hosting server records technical access data, such as IP address, date, time and page visited, for security and operation. These records are kept by the hosting provider for the period required by law.
Cookies and audience measurement
No analytics or advertising cookie is used before you allow it. If you click Accept on the cookie notice, the site may enable audience measurement tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand which pages are read most. If you click Decline, none of this is loaded.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, without identifying you. To change your mind, use the Cookie preferences button in the footer.
YouTube videos
Videos stay paused until you click. Only after the click does the site load the player in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From then on, Google's privacy rules also apply.
External links
The site links to pages of scientific journals, universities, Lattes, ORCID and news outlets. Each of these sites has its own privacy policy.
The WhatsApp button opens a chat in the WhatsApp app, which has its own privacy policy. This site does not store your number or what you write.
Your rights
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Law 13.709/2018), you can request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization or deletion of your data, as well as information about sharing. To remove any of your data, such as a message you sent me, just write and ask for it to be removed.
Languages
This site was written in Portuguese and also has English and Spanish versions. If the versions differ, the Portuguese text prevails.
